Discover a passionate tale of love lost, found, and avenged in Wuthering Heights. Lockwood, a wealthy man from England, rents a house from an eccentric gentleman named Heathcliff, who is the tortured master of Wuthering Heights. Through Lockwood and the housekeeper, Nelly, the story of Heathcliff’s adoption, upbringing, revenge, and love for Catherine is told.

The Awakening and Other Stories, Kate Chopin's best-known novel, is set in the Gulf Coast region around New Orleans, and is critically acclaimed for its style and for being ahead of its time in discussing important women’s issues. Also included in this volume are several of Chopin’s short stories, including “Désirée’s Baby” and “The Story of an Hour.”

Widely considered to be one of the greatest novels written in any language, Crime and Punishment explores the life of Rodin Raskolnikov, a young Russian man who robs and murders a pawnbroker to save himself from a life of poverty. As a consequence, he must deal with the oppressive mental anguish of being a criminal while attempting to maintain relationships with his friends and family.

Rumored to be haunted, the Palais Garnier opera house in nineteenth-century Paris is the setting for this story of a dangerous love triangle involving a young Swedish soprano, her mysterious “Phantom” tutor, and her childhood friend. The Phantom of the Opera will have you burning the candles low to reach the dark, gothic ending.

Considered by many scholars to be Willa Cather's first masterpiece, My Ántonia tells the story of a young orphan, Jim Burden, who is sent from Virginia to Nebraska, where he grows up with his grandparents on their farm. Rich in themes that will resonate with readers of all backgrounds, this title explores the struggles and triumphs of ordinary people in extraordinary times.

Alexander Hamilton is best known as the United States’ first Secretary of the Treasury and the author of the majority of The Federalist Papers, a series of essays that outlined the basic concepts and premises of the U.S. Constitution. Included in Selected Works of Alexander Hamilton are five of the most important essays from The Federalist Papers, plus personal correspondence and public statements from across Hamilton’s career as a statesman.

A fascinating and unconventionally educated man, Benjamin Franklin imparts—in his own words—wisdom and remarkable life lessons on the art of living with great personal integrity. Taken from John Bigelow’s carefully researched 1868 publication that was transcribed directly from the original manuscript, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin and Other Writings is sure to be a treasured part of any home library.

I love these Word Cloud Classics! I have only 11 so far, but plan to get more. I am especially glad to see the new ones. I hope they will make more, especially Sir Richard Burton’s Arabian Nights. It is offered in Canterbury Classics as a hardcover, but I want to get a flexbound Word Cloud version. I can almost see the words “Open Sesame!” on the cover already.

I have only six books from this collection. I’m planning to get Crime and Punishment and Wuthering Heights. For future releases please consider War and Peace (maybe on two volumes), and The Iliad.
